#19 Awards

Somewhere along the line I forgot to put a post in about the awards in various categories. I did have a look at them and they were quite creative.

#23 THE END!

There are one or two things that I might consider making use of when I have more time, like when I am retired. At the moment, I don't really want to spend every waking moment attached to a computer. It took considerably longer to deal with than was indicated and really ate into back-of-house work time. However, i have completed it, so that was an achievement i itself.

#22 Audio books

Couldn't get into the World Ebook Fair, but had a look at the Children's classical titles one. Still prefer to have a hard copy in my hand rather than on a MP3 player so while I can see its use for some, not really for me.

#21

Checked podcastalley as this was the only one that would open. Looked under several of the topics but couldn't find anything that really interested me that i would want to listen to. Prefer listening to actual radio.

#20 Youtube

Found a video of Russell Robertson in his underwear with Kate Ceberano singing. Pity he doesn't play for NM as he's really cute.

#20 Youtube

This can be entertaining but also VERY intrusive. Its use seems to be much abused.

Google docs

I just found Google docs. Wish I had found it sooner as I could have used it instead of Microsoft Office for my purposes.

Weni, Widi, Wiki!!!!

Checked out Wikipedia and Wikinorthia. They are informative but of course, the information still has to be checked elsewhere as confirmation. Great for communities, though, to be constantly informed of what has been, what is, and what will be!

Library 2.0 and Web 2.0

Read 2 of the "essays" and can see where they are coming from, but some of it seems very "pie in the sky".

Tagging,etc

Had a look at this but again, I think I'd rather stick with favourites. Technorati - sheesh! Looked at the popular blogs but there are too many people out there with FAR too much time on their hands!!!

online images

Had a play around with this but it isn't something that I'm likely to use. maybe in retirement when I have time!

On the road again!

After a haitus of some months, I've worked out what RSS feeds can do, although I'm not sure how much I'll use them. I can see their usefulness, though.

RSS

WHEW! At last I have managed to overcome my RSS feeds phobia after several attempts. I felt like my brain was fried whenever I came across the letters RSS! But with a little help from a friend - I've done it!

#s 5,6,7

Had a look at the Mashup awards. Looks interesting but time-consuming. Uploaded pics.

Have up loaded photos from own camera. Used Flickr to post a picture with comments.

Smudge in his favourite pose. He usually does this at my feet, but he liked the new quilt which I had put on the back of the sofa. An unusual view!

#4 Registration

At last - I have a blog and I'm registered - only after a bit of messing about!

#3 Grab yourself a blog

Had a few problems with this but with a little help from a friend, it's done.
